Updated
In short
- Moov has a 1,100 mAh battery that lasts weeks at 30 minutes of reading a day with the front light low.
- Charge it with any USB-C cable and charger; a cable comes in the box. Moov doesn't charge wirelessly.
- Front-light brightness and Wi-Fi use are what shorten battery life most.
How long the battery lasts
With the front light low, Moov's 1,100 mAh battery lasts weeks at 30 minutes of reading a day. E-ink only uses power when the page changes, so most of the battery goes on turning pages, the front light and Wi-Fi.
What affects battery life
- Front-light brightness: the brighter the light, the faster the battery drains.
- Wi-Fi: syncing books and downloading updates use extra power.
- Page turns: reading more, or with a small font that fills pages faster, uses a little more.
How to charge Moov
- Plug the USB-C cable from the box into Moov and into a USB charger or computer. Any standard USB-C cable works.
- Moov's magnetic back is for attaching to cases and surfaces; it doesn't charge wirelessly.
- The same USB-C port transfers files: see add books to Moov.
Looking after the battery
- Avoid leaving Moov in direct sun or a hot car: heat is hard on batteries and e-ink screens.
- If you won't use Moov for a long time, charge it partway first and top it up every few months.
- Moov Pro is splash and water resistant. If it gets wet, dry it and let the USB-C port dry completely before charging. Moov Lite isn't water resistant, so keep it dry.
