How to set up IKAWE Moov

Set up your IKAWE Moov in a few minutes: download the IKAWE app from the on-screen code, connect to Wi-Fi, bind Moov to the app and add your first book.

What you need

  • Your Moov and the USB-C cable from the box
  • A phone running iOS or Android, for the IKAWE app
  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network: Moov connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

If Moov doesn't turn on, charge it with the USB-C cable for a while first.

Step 1: Turn Moov on and get the app

Press the power button. On first start, Moov shows a scannable code: scan it with your phone's camera to download the IKAWE app from the App Store or Google Play.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

Follow the Wi-Fi setup on Moov's screen: choose your network and enter its password. Moov uses Wi-Fi to sync books from the app and to download software updates.

Step 3: Bind Moov to the IKAWE app

Binding links your Moov to the app, so you can send books from your phone:

  1. On Moov, go to Settings.
  2. Select Log In to Account to open the device binding page. Moov shows a QR code.
  3. Open the IKAWE app on your phone.
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on Moov.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the binding.

Step 4: Add your first book

The quickest way is through the app: open the Devices tab, select your Moov, tap Import and choose a book; then on Moov, open the menu in the upper-right corner of the Home screen and select Sync. You can also copy EPUBs and images over USB-C. Both methods step by step: add books to Moov.

Getting around

  • Turn pages by tapping the screen or pressing the left and right page-turn buttons on the sides.
  • Open the menu from the upper-right corner of the Home screen: this is where you'll find Sync and USB Mode.
  • Adjust the light with the on-screen slider, or the + and − buttons. See front light and buttons.
  • Settings is where you change Wi-Fi, bind the app and set up the buttons.
  • Software updates download over Wi-Fi, so Moov gets new features without a cable.

Common questions

Do I need the IKAWE app to use Moov?

No, but it's the easiest way to add books, and it's needed for PDFs and other formats that the app prepares for Moov. You can also copy EPUBs and images over USB-C without it.

Is the IKAWE app on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The IKAWE app is available for both iOS and Android.

Does Moov work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

Moov connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Most home routers broadcast both bands; choose the 2.4 GHz one.

Which font formats does Moov support?
