How to add custom fonts to IKAWE Moov

Add your own fonts to IKAWE Moov in TTF, OTF or TTC format, with the IKAWE app or over USB-C into the Font folder, then choose them from the reading screen.

Supported font formats

Moov supports fonts in TTF (TrueType), OTF (OpenType) and TTC (TrueType Collection) formats. Those cover almost every font you can download or buy.

Add a font with the IKAWE app

  1. Bind your Moov to the IKAWE app and connect it to a Wi-Fi network. See bind Moov to the IKAWE app.
  2. Open the Devices tab in the app and select your Moov model.
  3. Tap Import, select the font file type, and choose a font file from your phone.
  4. On the Moov Home screen, tap the upper-right corner to open the menu.
  5. Select Sync to receive the font file.

Add a font over USB-C

  1. Connect Moov to your computer using a USB-C cable.
  2. On the Moov Home screen, tap the upper-right corner to open the menu.
  3. Select USB Mode.
  4. Once Moov appears on your computer, copy the font file to the Font folder.
  5. Exit USB Mode.

Use your font

  1. Open a book.
  2. On the reading screen, select Font.
  3. Choose the font you want to use.

On a 4.5-inch screen, fonts with sturdy strokes and open letter shapes stay clearest at small sizes. Thin, high-contrast fonts look best on Moov Pro's sharper 300 PPI screen; see 300 PPI e-readers explained.

If a font doesn't appear

  • Copied over USB: check it's in the Font folder, not the books folder, and that it's a TTF, OTF or TTC file.
  • Sent from the app: select Sync on Moov again, with Moov on Wi-Fi.
  • Other formats, such as web fonts (WOFF), aren't supported.
